Complementarianism properly understood and practiced is never about power. It is not about “woman, fetch me a sammich!” as much as it is men engaged in servant-leadership in the home and church and women graciously submitting to that leadership. Most arguments I see from egalitarians try to turn this into a power struggle when, speaking as an unapologetic complementarian/patriarchy advocate, the very opposite is true. No one is less interested in hierarchical relationships in the church but that in no way negates the teaching of Paul on how the genders complement one another in the church.
